1. Definitions
"Platform", "Service", or "Cobbic" means the website, apps, APIs, and related services provided by Cobbic, Inc.. "User Content" means any text, images, video, audio, code, or materials you upload, submit, or create on the Platform. "Anonymous" means participation without creating or authenticating an account.
2. Acceptance & Eligibility
By accessing or using the Platform you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies we publish. You must be 18 years or older to use the Platform. If you are not permitted to form a contract in your jurisdiction, you may not use Cobbic.
3. Account Types & Anonymity
You may use the Platform as an anonymous participant (when a thread permits it) or by registering an account. Accounts give access to additional features. Whether anonymous or registered, you are responsible for your behavior and your content. If you register, you must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure.
3.1 Identity Verification
For certain features we may require identity verification (for safety or legal reasons). Refusing verification may limit access or feature availability.
3.2 Anonymous Safety
Anonymous participants are protected by our privacy practices, but public content shared anonymously is still public. Do not post anything you would not want others to see. We may retain metadata and logs for safety and abuse prevention (see Data Retention section).
4. Ephemeral Threads & Content Lifecycle
Threads are temporary by design. Each thread begins with a default lifespan and may be extended by interactions ("Buzz", replies, etc.) according to our rules. When a thread expires, the Platform will remove thread content from the public feed. We may still retain backups, logs, or aggregated data as described in the Privacy Policy and for legal or security reasons.
4.1 Archival & Backups
While most ephemeral content is removed from public view at expiration, copies of content may persist in backups or internal logs for a limited time for abuse investigations, fraud prevention, legal holds, or compliance. We will honor lawful requests for data retention restrictions where required by applicable law.
5. User Content — Ownership & License
You retain ownership of the User Content you submit. By posting User Content you grant Cobbic, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, use, copy, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly perform, and display such content (a) to operate and improve the Platform, (b) to enable Platform features (search, indexing, highlights), and (c) for promotion and advertising, including excerpts or highlights.
5.1 No Confidentiality
Unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing, User Content is not confidential. Do not post trade secrets, sensitive personal data, or information you wish to keep private.
5.2 Content Representations
You represent and warrant that you own the rights to the content you post or have permission to post it and that posting it does not violate any third-party rights or laws.
6. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Platform to:
- Violate any law or regulatory requirement.
- Infringe someone else's intellectual property rights.
- Harass, stalk, threaten, or promote violence or illegal activities.
- Share sexual content involving minors or facilitate exploitation.
- Attempt to de-anonymize other users without consent.
- Upload malware, phishing content, or otherwise attempt to harm the Platform or other users.
- Use bots, scraping, automation, or other techniques to manipulate engagement, trends, or access excessive data (unless explicitly permitted).
- Create multiple accounts to evade penalties or manipulate systems.
7. Moderation, Reporting & Enforcement
We use a mix of automated systems (ML) and human moderators to enforce the rules. Moderators may remove content, label material, restrict features, or suspend and terminate accounts at our discretion.
7.1 Reporting
Use in-app reporting tools or email legal@cobbic.com with details (URLs, screenshots, timestamps). We respond to reports consistent with our policies and applicable law.
7.2 Appeals
If you believe moderation was incorrect, you may appeal by contacting legal@cobbic.comand providing context and evidence. Appeals will be reviewed by a separate moderation team where possible; resolution times may vary.
8. Copyright & DMCA
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, you may send a DMCA takedown notice containing the information required by law to our designated agent at dmca@cobbic.com. We will follow the DMCA notice-and-takedown process and applicable law. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
Counter-notices may be submitted by alleged uploaders where permitted by law. We will comply with lawful takedown and counter-notice procedures and may provide complainants and alleged uploaders' contact information to each other only as permitted by law.
9. Privacy, Data Processing & User Rights
Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Key points:
- We minimize data collection and support anonymous participation where possible.
- We may process personal data to provide the Platform, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and to improve the service.
- If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, you have rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection). If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA (access, deletion, opt-out of sale/sharing, correction). Instructions to exercise your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
Where we provide anonymized or aggregated data for analytics or research, we apply reasonable anonymization techniques; however, no method is perfectly irreversible and re-identification risks exist for certain datasets.
10. Security & Data Retention
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect data, but no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. We retain user data in line with our retention policies (detailed in the Privacy Policy) for operational, legal, and security reasons.
11. Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds
Currently the Platform is free to use. If we add paid features or subscriptions, we will publish specific terms for those services, including billing and refund policies.
12. Third-Party Services & Links
The Platform may integrate third-party services (authentication, analytics, embedding). We are not responsible for third-party content or privacy practices. Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms.
13. Disclaimers & No Warranties
The Platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cobbic, Inc. expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cobbic, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with the Platform. Our aggregate liability for direct damages shall be limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Cobbic, Inc. in the 12 months prior to the claim; or (b) USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability; in such cases, these limitations will apply only to the extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cobbic, Inc. from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your User Content, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
16. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts or access for violations of these Terms, suspected illegal activity, or where required by law. Termination may lead to loss of access to content and features. We reserve the right to delete or retain content as permitted by law.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of State where the HQ is. For disputes, please consider that different jurisdictions have different rules around arbitration and class-action waivers. If you intend to include binding arbitration or a class-action waiver, consult local counsel before publishing.

19. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will use reasonable efforts to notify users (in-app notice or email where appropriate). Continued use of the Platform after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
